Homage

I have comforted aching backs
after long hard days of toil.
I have been a quiet spot
where the sun can rest it’s brilliance,
a happy playground for the dancing rain
and a willing ear embracing
the whispers of the alpine winds.
I have offered a place of solace and acceptance,
a place of dreams and of celebration.
And now I continue,
giving myself as proof of the beauty
of an aging visage and
a glowing grateful heart.
I acquired this special little chair many years ago in a second-hand store, carefully keeping it safe and untouched ever since. With the invitation to participate in the Reading Chair Auction came the opportunity to at last lovingly help it to speak. Subtle embellishment, writing and accordion book 2025.
